IVINS, Utah (October 10, 2025) — The Bank of Utah Championship, Utah’s annual PGA TOUR event, will take place October 23–26 at Black Desert Resort, and to celebrate the lead-up to this year’s tournament, Black Desert and Bank of Utah hosted a statewide trophy tour from October 2–10.
The tour brought the tournament trophy to a number of iconic Utah locations, Bank of Utah branches across the state, and the homes of other tournament partners, culminating on the 18th green of Black Desert Resort golf course—where the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship winner will hoist the trophy on Sunday, October 26.
Designed and created by O.C. Tanner, renowned global employee rewards and recognition company, the 2025 trophy was unveiled at the company’s headquarters in Salt Lake City on Thursday, October 2, then visited Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox’s office and a number of other notable locations throughout Utah until it was welcomed on Friday, October 10 at Black Desert Resort.
“I’m so excited to once again be part of the Bank of Utah Championship trophy tour and to welcome the PGA TOUR back to Utah,” Governor Spencer J. Cox said. “After the tremendous success of last year’s event at Black Desert, the State of Utah is proud to support this remarkable tournament. O.C. Tanner, a homegrown Utah company, has designed another beautiful trophy that reflects the spirit of our state. This championship is more than just a golf tournament — it puts Utah on the national stage and showcases everything that makes our state so special. I want to thank Bank of Utah for stepping up as title sponsor. Their commitment not only grows the game of golf but also strengthens our communities and brings pride to the entire state.”
The trophy was commissioned by Black Desert Resort and designed by O.C. Tanner, which specializes in employee recognition solutions, including software, custom awards and trophies. In addition to helping the world’s largest companies build thriving workplace cultures, O.C. Tanner also has a reputation for designing and manufacturing custom awards for the world’s biggest stages. In 2002, the company created the Salt Lake City Olympic medals and has provided commemorative rings for every Team USA Olympic and Paralympic athlete since 2000.
“We are once again honored to work with the Bank of Utah Championship in creating this incredible trophy – a unique piece of art – the champion will hold proudly,” said Scott Sperry, CEO of O.C. Tanner. “I’m proud of our custom awards team for collaborating to create a custom piece that represents Black Desert and Southern Utah so well. Congratulations to Patrick Manning and Black Desert for this special moment.”
Drawing inspiration from the wind-sculpted lava rock that surrounds Black Desert Resort, the trophy incorporates a bunker-style notch — modeled after Black Desert’s iconic 18th green — that functions as a natural handle. Curved lines reflect the region’s signature wind patterns, while topographic contours honor its origin in Ivins, Utah.
The green accents symbolize both the vibrant, well-manicured course and Bank of Utah’s brand color palette, while the trophy’s black exterior reflects the dramatic basaltic lava fields of Black Desert. The design as a whole thoughtfully unites Bank of Utah’s identity with the raw beauty and rugged landscape of Southern Utah.
“Once again, O.C. Tanner has delivered a true work of art — meticulous craftsmanship that reflects Black Desert’s character, from lava-field textures to wind-carved lines and course contours. This year’s design also features a refined green accent, a deliberate nod to our new title sponsor, Bank of Utah. It’s a trophy worthy of our champion and of the community that makes this event special,” said Patrick Manning, Managing Partner, Black Desert Resort.
