OGDEN, Utah — Dec. 11, 2025 — Bank of Utah today announced the retirement of two longtime leaders, Frank Browning and Jon Browning, who will step down from their day-to-day roles at year-end after decades of distinguished service. Both will continue to serve on the bank’s Board of Directors in their current capacities, offering the thoughtful perspective and steady guidance that have shaped the organization for many years.
Frank and Jon Browning, brothers and lifelong members of the Weber County community, have each played a significant role in Bank of Utah’s growth, culture and long-standing commitment to community service. Their leadership reflects a family tradition at the bank, one that continues today through Ben Browning’s leadership as Vice Chairman and CEO.
“Frank and Jon’s dedication and leadership have been a stabilizing force for Bank of Utah,” said Ben Browning, Vice Chairman and CEO. “They have influenced me personally, as well as the organization as a whole. They exemplify our commitment to unlocking potential for our team members, clients and community by acting with integrity, building trust and helping us fulfill our mission to create lasting prosperity today and for generations to come. Their warm kindness, steady guidance and resolve to always do the right thing have left a lasting impression on everyone who knows them. We are deeply grateful for their service.”
Frank Browning: Leadership Rooted in Community
Frank Browning’s career took him through nearly every department of the bank. His broad experience and steady leadership guided Bank of Utah through periods of growth and change, and his service as Chairman has been marked by financial expertise, strategic insight and deep respect for the people he leads. He will continue to share his institutional understanding through his ongoing service on the Board.
A lifelong Weber County resident, Frank is widely known for his decades of community service. He has mentored youth as a Boy Scout leader, including as Scoutmaster and President of the Trapper Trails Council, and has coached youth soccer and basketball. His influence extends into education, the arts, healthcare and community development. Over the years, he has served on the boards of the Ogden School Foundation, Ogden Symphony Ballet, Ogden Regional Medical Center, Ogden Community Foundation, Weber State University Alumni Board, the Goddard School of Business Advisory Council and the Ogden-Weber Chamber Women in Business Board.
Frank has also contributed to the banking industry through roles with the American Bankers Association and Utah Bankers Association and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
Jon Browning: A Legacy of Service and Connection
Jon Browning’s career with Bank of Utah spans nearly 50 years and reflects his deep commitment to people, service and integrity. He began working for the bank as a senior in high school, delivering cash and coin to branches across northern Utah. After serving a mission, he returned as a teller while attending Weber State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in economics.
Jon worked in several departments throughout his career, including Collections and Audit, before becoming the bank’s appraiser. He held that position for more than 25 years, managing the internal appraisal department and its outside partners with professionalism and fairness. For more than 20 years, he has also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors, a role he will continue.
Jon’s service extends far beyond the bank. He has volunteered for many years with YCC Family Crisis Center, serving as secretary, treasurer, board president and a member of the finance committee. He has also been active in church service and Scouting.
Leadership: Prepared for the Future
Ben Browning also noted that the bank has thoughtfully prepared for this shift in responsibilities over the past few years. “We have a strong leadership team in place. I remain actively involved each day as Vice Chairman and CEO, and Branden Hansen continues to lead as our President. We look forward to celebrating Frank and Jon for all they’ve done and to carrying their legacy forward.”
“The success and strength of Bank of Utah today is a direct result of the foundation Frank and Jon helped build,” said Hansen. “Their leadership, compassion and dedication have made a lasting impact on our employees, our customers and the communities we serve.”
