Vernal, Utah, Sept. 18, 2025 — Bank of Utah has officially launched its Vernal – Uintah Basin Home Loan office with a ribbon cutting and open house, held on September 17. Bank of Utah leadership joined city and county officials, local businesses, residents and visitors in celebrating the new mortgage loan production office.
Bank of Utah presented a $1,000 check as a donation to the Utah Association of REALTORS Housing Opportunity Fund (UARHOF) during the ceremony. Since 1998, UARHOF has contributed over $1 million to support housing-related programs for those in need. The bank’s Vernal team has built a strong relationship with the nonprofit, including helping install smoke detectors in underprivileged homes. This donation will support critical needs of veterans in the Uintah Basin area.
The new office will offer a range of mortgage services, including construction lending, jumbo financing, Utah Housing loans, USDA Rural Housing loans and FHA/VA loans, among others. Bank of Utah has experienced loan officers to review each situation and provide the right loan for every need.
“Our expansion into Vernal and collaboration with local nonprofits underscores our commitment to meet the financial needs of Eastern Utah,” said Eric DeFries, SVP Residential Lending of Bank of Utah. “The Uintah Basin continues to grow, with an increasing housing demand fueled by local economic growth and an influx of new residents drawn to the area’s stable job market and recreational opportunities. We are confident that our new branch and the local expert lenders located there will provide exceptional service and meaningful community support.”
The Bank of Utah offers a variety of mortgage options and services, including first-time home purchase, refinancing a current home or building a dream home on a favorite lot. The bank also offers home equity lines of credit or reverse mortgages to help leverage the equity in a home for home improvements, education costs, vacations, debt consolidation and more.
Bank of Utah, an independent, locally owned community bank, continues to grow its statewide and national presence. The bank stays true to its roots—offering tailored services, advice and ideas and making impactful contributions to surrounding communities.
