As part of the 2025 Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund, Bank of Utah helped secure more than $200,000 in grant funding for 30 nonprofit organizations — more than any other financial institution in the program. These grants are helping local organizations throughout Utah create meaningful, lasting impact in the communities they serve.

First Step House
First Step House gives people in crisis a chance to begin again. Through substance use treatment, behavioral health care and transitional housing, the organization helps individuals break cycles of addiction, regain stability and move forward with dignity and hope.
The journey to recovery is never easy, but First Step House provides the support, structure and compassion needed to take that first step — and every step that follows. Each program is built around the belief that with the right help, people can heal and rebuild their lives.
Bank of Utah has supported First Step House for several years through donations and community involvement. With funding from the 2025 Member Impact Fund, the organization will continue expanding recovery programs and housing services that empower individuals to overcome addiction and build stable, independent lives.
