Feeding Utah Students: A 2025 Member Impact Grant Story

As part of the 2025 Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund, Bank of Utah helped secure more than $200,000 in grant funding for 30 nonprofit organizations — more than any other financial institution in the program. These grants are helping local organizations throughout Utah create meaningful, lasting impact in the communities they serve.

Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah

Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah operates the region’s largest food pantry, along with mobile distribution programs that deliver meals directly to schoolchildren and families in need. The organization plays a vital role in ensuring consistent access to food and essential supplies for some of the area’s most vulnerable residents.

With support from Bank of Utah and funding through the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund, Catholic Community Services is enhancing its ability to serve families with dignity and care.

The grant will help strengthen warehouse operations and expand mobile pantry services, bringing food and essential resources directly to those who need them most.

Bank of Utah team members volunteer to distribute food to kids at New Bridge Elementary School each month throughout the school year.

One of the organization’s most impactful programs is Bridging the Gap, which provides bags of food to local schoolchildren every Friday so they have meals to rely on over the weekend. Bank of Utah team members volunteer each month to help pack and distribute these bags, reinforcing the bank’s hands-on commitment to fighting food insecurity in the communities it serves.
